How to soothe a restless (and hot) afternoon

"Stand also not right, sit also not right." Yep, that's what we Chinese would say when we are restless. So, in the middle of a super hot afternoon, I walked out to the next street to get my 'fix'.

Banana fritter, curry puff and 'lekor' - fish paste roll

When bored, restless or depressed, there are always two possible ways to deal with it - shop or eat. Today, I did the second. I know, I know, it's bad for health. I should have gotten down on my knees and prayed. Instead, I succumbed to temptation.

Tsk....tsk....bad, bad Bkworm!

Not long, not long, I too will gladly sacrifice myself in the name of Temptation for those Curry Puffs and Banana Fritters! Not so sure about the Fish Lekors ~ Never had them before..

Haha, exactly like my sister... She loves the keropok lekor a lot. Today we dropped by the stall to buy, before proceeding to collect her blood-test results - cholesterol level on the high side! Ha! Then she asked me to go check my cholesterol level too, cuz it might be a hereditary thing.

oh, I so miss lekor! banana fritters I could probably do a shoddy job of it but still get some. but lekor, definitely nowhere to be found here... argh!

LB,
I think you can get 'lekor' at any stall that sells 'pisang goreng' as well. Might as well make it a total sacrifice, yah! LOL!!

Narrowband,
Good thing, I don't always succumb though the temptation is just a few minutes' walk away. hehehe! I felt so guilty after indulging.

May,
Maybe you can learn to make. ;) Saw the recipe for 'lekor' at a couple of websites. Good luck!

I'm not sure if I've eaten the lekors before, but I do miss the curry puffs and goreng pisang and the likes. Hope they worked for you!

Very bad Bookworm.

Can we bad together and go eat some when I show up someday?

MamaBok,
aiyoh, no such temptations over there?? can make your own ;)

BP,
hehe, it was just for the moment. Must try to steer clear of these oil stuff .... until the next 'temptation' strikes. ;)

Simple American,
Already put that request down in my little book - Food For SA :)

I was craving for lekor and when I can't find any around my area, I forgotten about it...until I read your post. I can't find them in goreng pisang stalls. But I can see them in Carrefour. Just that I don't think they are as good as the sidewalk ones. The chili must be good too!!

Keropok lekor, yes.
Pisang goreng, yes.
Ubi (kayu) goreng?

Mmm...! So wonderfully unhealthy.

Ubi kayu and soya milk. soya milk makes it all OK! ;)
