Little Ying Ying Has Died

I cried when I read the papers this morning. Another young life tragically ended at the hands of a monster of a human being.

Four year old Ooi Ying Ying who was abducted three days ago was found to be dead and her bone fragments scattered at different places.

Why, oh why?? I cannot even begin to imagine the parents' grief over the tragic loss of their little girl. One moment she was with her mother and the next she was gone, taken away and now believed to be murdered. Not only was her young life snatched away but to be burnt and remains strewn at different places?? I am at loss for words at the cruelty of it all.

We can't afford to leave our children out of our sight, not even for one moment. In the blink of an eye, a crime can be committed and it will be too late for regrets. I've seen parents let their kids run wild in the supermarket lanes or at shopping malls. Has it ever crossed their minds that in the brief second that the child is out of sight, that could be the last time they will ever see their kid alive? And even if not dead, what kind of trauma will the child be put through if abducted, raped or maimed?

Though we read about crimes being committed every day but when a child is involved, the crime becomes even much more hideous! My heart goes out to the family of little Ying Ying.

Update : The police have arrested a couple (one of which is a close relative of the little girl) in connection with the murder. Apparently, 'the close relative' is the mother who reported her daughter as missing!

The close relative detained in the English Dailies is actually he mother. It is reported all over the Chinese dailies. The mother and her lived in boyfriend made up the missing person story. She was killed by the mother and the boyfriend.

Sad...how could a mother does this to her child.

Dragonmummy,
This is so shocking!! I was just wondering which female 'close relative' would do such a horrible thing. But if it's the mother, it's a totally unthinkable act.

Oh no, what a tragedy. We also read about how kinds of crimes here, and abduction of kids and even teenagers is also very common. Yes, we need to keep a closer eye on our children.

I was angry when I read the news yesterday. I was thinking "why would anyone want to hurt an innocent 4-yr-old in such a cruel way?" and then came another news to report that it was the mother. I went like "WTF???" Then why the hell did she approach MCA for help all over the state then? Blardy fool!

Never did I expect that 'close relative' to be her mum! Can put on a show somemore, pleading for the return of her daughter. She really duped us all.
