Sugar Rush @ Big Apple Donuts

Let me state for the record here that I have never been a doughnut fan. Yes, I do buy the obligatory one or two from Dunkin' Donuts and maybe a huge sugary one from Starbucks to get that sugary high once in a blue moon but it wasn't until I took a bite of Big Apple's doughnuts that I believe that I am now, well and truly, addicted.

Their doughnuts are simply fluffy and light. And trust me, I've seen them cut out the shape of the doughnut from the dough and weigh it on a mini scale first before sending it off to the oven!

People buy them by the dozens. Serious. They order the different flavours in twos and threes and then pay for a stack of boxes filled with six or a dozen doughnuts in each of those boxes. RM9.50 for six, RM17.00 for a dozen. If you buy one, it's RM2.00 a piece. I AM telling you the truth here.

I was queueing up at Big Apple Donuts & Coffee AGAIN yesterday evening. You can almost feel the electric charge in the air as the workers go about their respective tasks, churning out doughnuts like clockwork just behind the counter. And the buzz of conversation from the waiting line of customers only add to the 'sugar rush' that hits one in the face while visually feasting on the trays of doughnuts waiting to be bought. Different colors, different flavours. Brown, white, green, yellow with dollops of various colored cream atop each one. Exotic names - Whitnut, Choreo, Hot Berry, Snowy, Cocoring, Mango Tango, just to name a few. But the truly wicked one is the one stuffed with durian filling. It is my absolute favourite!

Recognise the 'thorns'?Choreo - Little Bkworm's must-haveWhitnut with peanut butter filling. I can still taste it in my mouth as I blog....California Almond .... did I say that I am an almond fan??
Chocoholic for donutholics! LOL!!

And those were only some of the choices available. Want to get some?

The Curve, Mutiara Damansara

Somebody help me, please!!! I think I have been doughnut-fied!

Wow! What a huge selection! And you mean these doughnuts hail from THE Big Apple?

I wonder if they have a store here, that I don't know about. There's Krispy Creme (or is it Krispy Kreme?)... super sweet, and I've tried it only once, so not doughnut-fied... yet! Hehe!

Hi Bkworm,
How's it going for you? Miss your end-of-the-week update. When you have some time, do check out the tag that I've just sent your way, under my "California wildfires" post.

Have a great rest of the week!

Firehorse,
Trust me, they are wickedly delicious. Lai-lai, we go eat donuts together!! :D

MamaBok,
You have Krispy Kreme over there, right? Good or not?

BP,
Errr...don't think they are really from the Big Apple. We don't have Krispy Kreme here yet. But heard that they are really good.

Ok, will do the tag soon. In the meantime, inspiration has struck and here are a few posts to tie you over the weekend.;)

You have a great weekend, yah!

Hi bkworm, I think they have a branch in Pavillion or something similar. Too many doughnut choices. Thank goodness I'm not a doughnut fan. Otherwise, I'd put on a lot of pounds. :)

Ahh! I have just scrolled further down and read that you've ALREADY found that doughnut place at Pavillion. :)
