Thank you for being my friend.
Little Bkworm told me happily the other day that the girl she considers to be her best friend (BFF, I believe, is the term the new generation uses) since primary school, is finally appreciating her as a true and loyal friend.
I've had a few best friends in my life. There is Kit from Primary 1 to 6. And then Eve from Sec. 1 to Sec. 5 and Katie from Pre-U days. When I came out to work, I was really tight with Straus. Girlfriends to share the ups and the downs, the joys and the sorrows and burning the phone lines like there was no tomorrow! Having said that, I've had my share of heartbreak when 'best friends' move away or the friendship just waned.
Just before Chinese New Year, BP honored me with the Forever Friends Award. (Thanks, BP, very much!)
A Ball is a Circle, no beginning, no end.
It keeps us together like a circle of friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see
Is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.
I am so touched by her award because there are not many people that one can meet and be comfortable with immediately. Okay, we haven't exactly met but I am pretty good with my instincts (a woman's intuition, perhaps) and she's one person, I think I can talk to with ease should we have the privilege to meet in person some day.
I'd like very much to pass on this award to my faithful friends whom I've met on this blog space. If you have been a silent reader, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your quiet support and for those who regularly leave me encouraging comments or just simply a comment to let me know that you care enough to share my thoughts, this award is for you too.
We can only be as good a friend as the friend that we are to others.

5 thots:
SAHM extends little finger to bkworm. For us it's BBF? (Best blogging friend).

MamaBok,
The world is made a lot smaller through blogging, yah! And glad to have made some pretty good friends this way too. :D
BP,
Yakking away over nice cup of coffee.....ahh.....someday, maybe.
Hi,
I've been your silent reader for some time now. I would happily tell you that I enjoy reading your blog, it's especially touching when you write about your feelings concerning your beloved mom (the past entries), until I would weep.
I am sure you would have quite a number of people telling you that you write very well. I guess, that's why I didn't bother to drop a note saying the same thing.
Then again, when you said thank you for the quiet support from the silent readers (that's me!), I thought it would be nice to reciprocate your thank you note as well.
Here, I wish you would continue to write, giving many a pleasure to warm their hearts, improve their english, and to know you better too.
Best regards.
