Addiction

How does one cure an addiction?

These pile of books are sitting right on top of my 'New-But-Not-Read' bin. And the bin is pretty big.

Is it the smell of new books, the glossy covers, the flipping of the pages or just the 'feeling' of a book in my hands that compels me to buy each time I walk into a bookstore?? It's like a perpetual itch that starts the moment I step into the store and it won't go away until I pay for at least one book at the cashier.

There are days when I would choose the books that catch my attention and then forced myself to put the 'chosen' ones back onto the shelves. The dragging of my feet out of the store is a most excruciating feeling.

Papa Bkworm is thinking of imposing a ban to stop me from going into ALL bookstores in the near future. But what is a 'bookworm' going to do??

Hahaha! Too many good books, so little time!

I'm one of those who go to the library now, so much more than back home, and easier on the pocket! Believe it or not, I'm on a queue of 900 people for John Grisham's book that came out in January, but it's one of those things that I will like to read, but it's OK that I don't get round to it immediately.

Eh, you are like me too. I prefer the bookshop to the library, and sometimes spend tooooo much money there. Also running out of bookshelf space. How, ah?

Hahaha. You're not called a BKWorm for nothing!

Jomel,
Yeah, they do but it's just not the same as owning the book. :(

MamaBok,
Hahaha! Good illustration, that one!

BP,
The libraries here are no where as good as the ones I see in Singapore! And I just cannot wait...what?...a queue of 900 people???

SAHM,
If I could, I would build a mezzanine floor just to house my books but I can't do that in an apartment, can I? Sigh!

Mumsgather,
Living up to my name...unfortunately, don't have enough cash to sustain this addiction.

I love books too! I would live in a book store, if it was allowed. I must have bought a thousand books, but I don't know where some of them are now. some people don't return them when they borrow. Lets link up ok? :)

Hey Bkworm, I totally feel the same way about books too! You should definitely read Eat, Pray, Love 1st. It's such a wonderful book. Very enlightening without being too heavy. It's so funny I couldn't stop laughing. :) Have fun book reading!
