Brown versus White
Recently, someone gave me a small bag of brown rice.
I heard a lot of good stuff about eating brown rice. It is supposed to be more healthy with more vitamins and minerals in it compared to white rice but not as tasty, though.
Do I cook it the same way as I do with white rice?
Anyone can help me with this?

From time to time, I do cook some brown rice.. Uncle Ben's. It's actually quite good. I like the taste and texture. But, I have no idea if there's a different way of cooking brown rice, so I've been cooking it the way I cook white rice! :-)
u might wanna try adding some first into your white rice until u get used to the taste :) Some people don like the taste of brown rice....
Every time I see brown rice, I said I got to try it. But just haven't got round to it. When you have, let me know, can?
Cooking it is the same. but I guess some trial and error will help. I usually add a bit more water when cooking brown rice - coz the man at the shop told me too!!
I cooked them the normal way.. donch know if there is other ways though.
Add a little more water than is usual. For best results cook in a clay pot, but the pot will be hard to clean without soaking.
My dad has been eating brown rice for years now. Got a bag in my pantry. Want it?
Yah it's cooked the same way like white rice! Mom used to cook that for us. She even mixed the brown rice and the white rice together and cook. Haha.
You have to put in more water. Otherwise, it comes out very hard, not like white rice. :)
LB,
Wouldn't brown rice be more coarse? At least, that's what I've been told.
Mummy to QiQi,
Hehe, think I will put a little bit with the white rice first in case the folks at home don't like it.
BP,
Haha, I may even blog about the experience. So watch out for this space. :)
SAHM,
Will definitely do that then. :)
MamaBok,
Don't know much about cooking brown rice, hence this entry ;)
Snark,
Thanks for the tip! You are not blogging anymore?
Narrowband,
Hehe, why 'used to'?
Hi Jenny,
Thanks for the tip! Haha! I still haven't cooked any yet...maybe this weekend.
